Security Operations Manager
About Job Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and disciplined Security Operations Manager with strong leadership, technical insight, and the ability to integrate modern technology into operational excellence. The ideal candidate will be proactive, innovative, and capable of leading multiple sites efficiently while maintaining compliance and performance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all daily operations across multiple security sites.
- Manage deployment, supervision, discipline, and performance of security personnel.
- Conduct risk assessments, compliance audits, and site inspections.
- Develop, implement, and review operational plans, SOPs, and incident reports.
- Ensure full compliance with PSIRA, Firearms Control Act, and Labour Legislation.
- Handle disciplinary procedures, grievances, and CCMA cases in line with company and legal requirements.
- Drive the integration of technology — including CCTV monitoring, digital patrol systems, GPS fleet tracking, and electronic reporting platforms.
- Identify and implement new technological innovations to enhance security operations.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring high service delivery standards.
- Manage manpower planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Oversee uniforms, vehicles, and operational equipment accountability.
- Prepare operational budgets, reports, and inputs for tenders or proposals when required.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications | Years of Experience
- Grade 12 (Matric) – essential
- PSIRA Grade A – valid and in good standing
- Firearm Competency (All Three Categories): Handgun, Shotgun, and Rifle
- Valid Firearm Training Certificates (Business Purpose)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior security management or supervisory role
Skills and Competencies
- In-depth understanding of PSIRA Regulations, Labour Law, CCMA procedures, and OHS Act
- Proven record of handling disciplinary and CCMA matters independently
- Technologically adept, with experience in:
- Digital patrol monitoring tools
- GPS and fleet-tracking software
- CCTV and access-control systems
- Electronic reporting and incident management systems
- Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills
- Driver’s License – required
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours when required
